He lays his head comfortable atop her stomach, as she carefully traced the outline of his ear with her finger. “What’s wrong?” she whispers not wanting to spoil the moment but curious about his thoughtful silence.
“Don’t take this the wrong way, but why do you like me?” he asks frowning. “I mean, you once asked why I don’t have anybody, and I told you, I just don’t open myself up easily. But what about you? What makes me special? I know your not like this with every and anybody. What makes me worth it?” he asked. He held his breath as he wondered if he asked his question correctly. He just wanted assurance that she knew enough about him to really accept him. He felt himself a puzzle that even he hadn’t figured out, so what makes this woman so sure she knew enough to love him? She giggled at his question.
“Well…I’m really tired of the usual guys.” The old lines the way they approach me, and you didn’t do any of that remember?”
“Yeah.” He confesses slowly.
“And your not single minded just after my body. Your really different that’s really attractive I have to admit. And then your really determined and driven I love how dedicated you are. I can tell.” She rubbed his head as she spoke causing him to close his eyes and smile. She started to laugh. “See, I didn’t name any of the obvious stuff.” He lifted his head up and looked at her in between her breasts.
“The obvious?”
“You know.” She teased as she gently guided his head down to lay flat. “I love you.” She whispered. He paused opening his eyes. A triumphant smile crept on his face as he began to laugh and his head rocked on her stomach.
“I love you.” He smiled
“yeah?”
“yeah.”
“I remember when I first spoke to you on the phone, I couldn’t understand why you didn’t like me, I was determined to have you like me.” She said, her eyes thoughtful. It wasn’t that he didn’t like her at first. No, it was that he was behaving the way he did to every woman he met, he had never so much as seen her when his friend pushed the phone into his face one day saying: “Talk to my girl, tell me what you think.”
“Oh so I was just a challenge? Well congrats.” He looked up at her again, grinning.
“Hey now.” She said trying to erase her smile, but her eyes gave her away. “I didn’t mean like that.” She began to smile again. Her nose wrinkled as she spoke. “I didn’t do anything to you, I didn’t understand why you had to be.” She paused as she looked down at him, her eyes searching his.
“What, go ahead.” His grin beckoning her to continue.
“Well, no offense but I thought you were a sarcastic asshole.” He laughed again causing his head to bounce on her stomach. “What?” she smiled. ‘Sorry, that’s just what I thought.
“No, no it’s cool I’m used to it. Sometimes I get arrogant asshole, or cocky asshole and then sarcastic asshole like you said. But I notice I’m always an asshole no matter what, I think its funny.”
“I don’t think that now though.” She rubbed his head. He lifted himself up on his arms and climbed up her body until his lips hovered over hers.
“Yeah?” he asked she didn’t reply as she closed her eyes and breathed slowly. He kissed her gently waiting for her lips to ask for another, and when they did he kissed her repeatedly. He pressed his body against hers and she opened her eyes smiling causing the bridge of her nose to wrinkle.
“I can feel it.” She whispered her eyes squinting.
His hands dropped down and he lowered the waist of her jeans just enough to see what she wore underneath them. “Hey now!” She playfully protested.
“You wore the color I asked.” He smiled as he crooked his neck to get a better view.
“yeah.” She said seductively as she continued to whisper.
“You know what that means” he said as he gently touched her forehead with is own.
“Yeah…no wait, no.” she giggled.
